Ivory Coast manager Emerse Fae has praised Amad Diallo amid his impressive form at Manchester United this season.
The 22-year-old has registered nine goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
Diallo recently signed a new deal at United. He is already an assured starter under manager Ruben Amorim and has a huge career ahead of him.
Speaking exclusively to SportsBoom.com, Fae said that Diallo needs to keep working hard to remain at the top and has the potential to become one of the best in his country.
He said: “He has the ability, but it all comes down to his dedication and determination.
“I don’t think the new contract should be a distraction for him. Instead, it should serve as a major boost, motivating him to do even more for the team.
“He can dribble, score and offers versatility in the game, making him a valuable asset to his Premier League side and crucial to their success this season.
“It brings me great joy to see him in such good form right now. He’s playing exceptionally well and is in a positive mood.
“When he joins the Cote d’Ivoire national team, he must go one step further, raise his level, and continue to impress.”
Diallo was in and out of the starting line-up at the beginning of the season under manager Erik Ten Hag. However, his fortunes changed with the Dutchman’s departure.
The Atalanta graduate was impressive under interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. He has carried over the form under Amorim, where he has played in the right wing-back and number ten roles.
Diallo has made more goal contributions than any other player under Amorim. He has been consistent despite Amorim constantly changing his position based on the team’s requirements.
The onus is on him to continue the good work for club and country. The winger can become a mainstay in the Ivory Coast team if he can replicate his form at club level.
Diallo has won six caps for his country. He has not made the squad for the last four games, but should make the cut for the World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Gambia next month.
