Fenerbahce are not interested in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, contrary to reports.
The Yellow Canaries and fellow Turkish giants Galatasaray have been credited with an interest in the English forward.
United have opened the door for Rashford to leave the club, but an exit is ‘looking increasingly difficult‘.
Serie A clubs Juventus and AC Milan were initially interested in him but dropped their interest. Borussia Dortmund want him on loan but are unwilling to pay his huge wages.
Rashford prefers a move to Barcelona. However, the La Liga giants lack the financial resources to afford him.
The club’s president, Deco, has played down their interest, stating that they are focused on contract renewals rather than signing new players.
Due to the lack of suitors for the United’s academy graduate, Fenerbahce have been linked with him.
Vice-president Acun Ilicali has denied the report, stating that they have players who play in a ‘similar’ position to Rashford.
He told Sky Sports: “Yesterday it was in the news that we are interested. First of all, he is a fantastic player.
“But in your team, when you have some plans, it is not logical to have two players in the same position that are too similar.
“These kinds of players need to play, play, play – and, if he comes, one of the other players would not be able to play.
“When it came in front of us, unfortunately, we said no – so there is nothing about this transfer.
“Of course, there were some rumours, but I can say very comfortably that we are not interested. But he’s a good player.”
Rashford has not been included in Unitied’s matchday squad in nine of the last 10 games across all competitions. His last inclusion was in the clash with Newcastle United.
Manager Ruben Amorim has excluded Rashford from the matchday squad due to his ‘performance in games’ and general conduct.
The 27-year-old has declared himself ‘ready and available‘ to play again, but Amorim is unconvinced.
Amorim has stated that if ‘things don’t change’, he will not reintegrate Rashford into the squad.
