Manchester United recorded an unprecedented feat under manager Ruben Amorim in the 1-0 win over Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.

The result marked the first time United kept a clean sheet in an away league game under manager Ruben Amorim and their second across all competitions under him.

Fulham were unbeaten in their last six home games before yesterday’s fixture, but their unbeaten run was ended by United.

The Red Devils were defensively resolute, denying the Cottagers from scoring for the seventh consecutive game across all competitions.

It is the first time since the 2011/2012 season that Man United have prevented Fulham from scoring against them in the league. They won the reverse fixture by a solitary goal.

United did not concede any big chances in the encounter, marking the third time they did so in a game across all competitions since Amorim’s arrival.

It was not a perfect defensive performance from the Red Devils. Midfielder Toby Collyer had to make a goal-line clearance to deny Joachim Andersen from scoring an equaliser.

Manager Marco Silva was frustrated with United’s defensive approach in the game. However. Amorim will be unfazed after his team secured a vital victory.

He must ensure the Red Devils maintain their defensive discipline in future games.
