Irony abounds as King gets stuck into Musk
‘Even if he made every ticket free, I would never sit on the Kop again.’
It’s safe to say that Daily Mail ‘journalist’ Dominic King is not enamoured with the prospect of businessman Elon Musk taking over his beloved Liverpool.
King claims ‘Musk’s views and his behaviour don’t chime with how the people of this city act’, conveniently ignoring that not everyone in Liverpool is a saint.
His comments about Musk are laughable given that he has been described as a ‘mouthpiece’ for current owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG).
There is a level of irony in play that King was happy to use the Musk-owned social media platform X to direct people to his nonsense in the Daily Mail.
While Musk is undoubtedly a divisive figure, let’s not pretend that FSG are all sweetness and light.
King appears to have conveniently forgotten their willingness to sell out the soul of English football for a place in the European Super League.
It is also important to note who pays King to write drivel. The Daily Mail – one of the most immoral rags in the media industry. King is happy to trouser his salary from them.
King pontificates as if he speaks for the entire fanbase when the reality is there are plenty of supporters who think Musk would be great for Liverpool.
Musk is a contentious individual. Liverpool – the club and its fans – are renowned for being prickly. They would be ideal bedfellows.
