Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is open to joining Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr before the end of the January transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
Al-Ittihad were keen on signing the Red Devils star last summer but could not get a deal over the line.
While they have moved on, Al-Nassr want to sign the 32-year-old, with Cristiano Ronaldo interested in a reunion with his former Real Madrid teammate.
Casemiro is not in Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s plans going forward after missing six of the 12 games the Portuguese has overseen since taking over in November.
The Red Devils boss prefers Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo as his first-choice pairing in the middle of the park, which could leave the Brazilian veteran with no choice but to leave.
He has struggled with the pace and physicality of the Premier League despite impressing in his debut campaign, and a January departure could be suitable for both club and player.
Casemiro cost Man United £60 million in 2022, but recouping half of that fee from Al-Nassr could prove tricky given how his valuation has dropped in recent months.
The Old Trafford club will look to sign a replacement if he leaves, and getting his £350,000-a-week wages off their bill will be a smart move.
He still has a contract until 2026 with the option for another 12 months, and an exit will help them balance the books and free up room for other signings.
Man United need to reshape their squad if they are serious about challenging for major silverware, and getting rid of Casemiro will be a good place to start.
Marcus Rashford and Antony could also leave this month, while Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen and Jonny Evans are expected to move on at the end of the campaign.
