Manchester United require a squad overhaul to match the new style of play ushered in by manager Ruben Amorim.
Amorim fields his team in a 3-4-2-1 formation, a system rarely used by his predecessors.
Man United have been heavily linked with Bournemouth starlet Milos Kerkez. Liverpool are keen to sign him as a replacement for Andrew Robertson.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kerkez has signed with Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports as his new agent. Romano says United are ‘monitoring his progress’.
The Cherries are aware that the ‘outstanding‘ full-back could make a move and would want around £50 million to sanction his exit.
His decision to sign with a new agency is bound to stoke the flames of exit speculation even further.
The left-back position has become a headache for the Red Devils over the past two seasons.
Luke Shaw has struggled to maintain fitness, while Tyrell Malacia was sidelined for the entire 2023/24 campaign due to injury.
Malacia has returned but his performances have been largely underwhelming.
Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot have struggled to make an impact as wing-backs.
Dalot has enjoyed plenty of possession on the left side but has been disappointing with his attacking contributions.
His deliveries lack quality, and he doesn’t possess the vision to create meaningful chances.
Kerkez is an exciting talent who has proven his quality in the Premier League. He has untapped potential, which makes him a great future prospect.
United must support Amorim with new signings next month to strengthen their squad and improve results.
While a winter move may be challenging, United must test Bournemouth’s resolve and pursue the opportunity.
