Lopetegui must axe West Ham star after terrible display against Brighton

 

West Ham United drew 1-1 with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

But West Ham produced a drab performance in the first half, and Mats Wieffer’s 51st-minute goal put them on the back foot.

However, Mohammed Kudus salvaged a point, heading in the rebound after Bart Verbruggen parried Jarrod Bowen’s shot.

Lukasz Fabianski pulled off a stunning save to deny substitute Yasin Ayari, as the Irons held on to secure a draw.

Lopetegui must axe Konstantinos Mavropanos after poor display

Konstantinos Mavropanos was tipped to be dropped after his poor outing against Bournemouth, but he started in the heart of defence alongside Max Kilman.

He once again produced a poor display. The centre-back lasted until half-time, as Lopetegui replaced him with Jean-Clair Todibo.

Mavropanos had 53 touches and completed 37 of his 43 passes (86% accuracy). He won 67% of his duels and registered three tackles and a clearance.

His overall performance was unconvincing, and West Ham should drop him from the first-team against Southampton on Thursday.
