Sheffield Wednesday want to sign Aston Villa forward

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Louie Barry from Aston Villa, according to the Star.

Wednesday are among the clubs who want to sign the forward on loan from Villa in the January transfer window.

Barry has scored 15 goals in all competitions on loan at Stockport County this season.

Villa reportedly plan to recall him next month and send him out on loan to a higher-level club for the second half of the campaign.

Wednesday are keen on a loan deal for Barry. Sheffield United are also interested in the former West Bromwich Albion and Barcelona prospect.

Wednesday could struggle to sign Barry in January

It will not be easy for Wednesday to sign Barry on a loan deal from Villa in January.

The Owls are not doing particularly well at the moment. They are unlikely to finish in the automatic promotion places in the Championship this season.

Wednesday could even miss out on a play-off spot. They are five points behind sixth-placed Middlesbrough.

There is also speculation on Danny Rohl’s future, with Southampton reportedly interested in the Wednesday manager.

Villa may not be keen on sending Barry on loan to Wednesday when they have the option of loaning him out to Leeds United.

Sunderland, Burnley and Middlesbrough are also keen on the 21-year-old, who can play various attacking roles.
