Big twist as Sterling wants to stay at Arsenal

Arsenal have some big decisions to make in the January transfer window.

The 2024/25 season hasn’t gone to plan for Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal squad.

The summer signings have failed to fire, and it seems like Arteta made a big mistake by not signing a top-class striker.

The Gunners boss must atone for that error either in January or next summer at the very latest.

Arteta has failed to get the best out of the players currently at his disposal, and the onus is on him to turn things around from now until the end of the season.

And there is one player in particular who just hasn’t been anywhere near good enough this term.

Raheem Sterling’s Arsenal future is hanging in the balance

The Gunners signed Raheem Sterling from Chelsea on a season-long loan last summer.

However, the deal has not worked out for Arsenal, despite the fact that the Blues are subsiding a large chunk of his salary.

Sterling, who earns £16,900,000 per year split between Arsenal and Chelsea (Spotrac), has failed to make an impact since moving to the Emirates Stadium.

In fairness to the former Liverpool and Manchester City attacker, he hasn’t really been given sufficient opportunities to prove himself.

According to the Evening Standard, Sterling is determined to remain at the Emirates and force his way into the side beyond the end of the January transfer window.

If this is true, it is a sign that the 30-year-old still has the hunger to prove himself at Arsenal.
