West Ham must secure deal for Corinthians star, can’t rely on dud to save their season

 

West Ham United have had a disappointing season, winning four of their 14 matches in the Premier League.

The Hammers are considering a replacement for manager Julen Lopetegui, whose days at the London Stadium look numbered.

The West Ham boss has been given a final chance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and if he will most likely be sacked if they lose.

A lack of goals has been one of their biggest issues, and it is clear they need to bring in a quality striker in the January transfer window.

Michail Antonio suffered a horrible car crash at the weekend, and he may have to retire from football following the accident.

West Ham spent £27 million to sign Niclas Fullkrug last summer, but injury issues mean he is rarely available for selection.

Danny Ings is also on their books but the £125k-per-week dud cannot be relied on to save their season.

Ings had the opportunity to prove a point when Lopetegui started him against Leicester City, but he produced a dismal display and lasted until half-time.

The Irons have been linked with Corinthians star Yuri Alberto (per UOL).

They must secure a deal for the 23-year-old in January, as he would be a fantastic addition to the squad.

The Brazilian could be a huge success in the English top-flight, but West Ham face competition from rival Premier League clubs.

The Hammers must make a move quickly for Alberto, as they desperately need to sign a quality centre-forward to save their season.
