Aaron Lennon has shared what some Everton players have told him about Jarrad Branthwaite.
Branthwaite is one of the best young players in the Premier League and is an important figure at Everton.
The 22-year-old has had injury problems this season, but he is one of the first names on manager Sean Dyche’s teamsheet when fit.
The England international centre-back has made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton this season.
What Everton teammates think about Jarrad Branthwaite
Former Everton winger Lennon has been raving about Branthwaite and has revealed what some of the current players at the Merseyside club have been telling him about the youngster.
Lennon told talkSPORT: “He is some talent. He is some player. I speak to a few of the Everton boys, and they say he is absolutely brilliant.
“I think big clubs wanted him in the summer. It looked like he didn’t get that move.
“Obviously, he has had a tough start with injuries this season, but he is vital. He is vital to that team. He is vital for them staying up this season.”
Jarrad Branthwaite could leave Everton
Branthwaite has done well for Everton since his move to Goodison Park in 2020. The defender is only 22 now and has already played for England.
It is hard to see Branthwaite stay at Everton for much longer. While it is highly unlikely that the Toffees will even entertain offers for the defender in the January transfer window, he could be on his way out next summer..
Everton are involved in the relegation battle this season, just as they were in the 2023-24 campaign. It is hard to see Branthwaite be satisfied playing for a struggling team season after season.
Manchester United were linked with Branthwaite in 2024. Liverpool are keen on the Everton defender.
Branthwaite has options, and it will not be easy for Everton to keep hold of the defender beyond the end of the season.
