Man Utd want to hold talks to sign Bayern star next month

Manchester United are not ready to give up on their pursuit of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.

United had reportedly suffered a setback in the race to sign the Canadian star after it was revealed that he was close to signing a new deal with the Bavarians.

Davies’ contract with Bayern expires next summer, and he is free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.

Journalist Christian Falk has now revealed that United have asked for a meeting with Davies and his agent in January.

He is currently valued at £42 million but the Old Trafford club do not have to worry about that as they can sign him for free next summer.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new left-back. Tyrrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot are the current options, but manager Ruben Amorim wants an upgrade.

United’s dream solution for the position is Davies, and the club will have to persuade him to join them ahead of other suitors.

Described as ‘world-class‘, the 24-year-old is also on Real Madrid’s radar.

Bayern are aware of interest from other clubs and eager to retain his services. However, they are unwilling to meet his salary demands.

Davies is regarded as one of the best left-backs in Europe, and it is no surprise that United want him.

He has the blistering pace and skills to play in Amorim 3-4-2-1, and the Portuguese tactician will love working with him.
