Gabriel Magalhaes hands Arsenal huge boost after missing Man United game

Arsenal secured a 2-0 win over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to move within seven points of Premier League leaders Liverpool

They will be looking to pick up all three points when they visit Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Sunday.

The Gunners were without Gabriel Magalhaes against the Red Devils after he failed to shake off the knock he sustained against West Ham United last Saturday.

However, Arsenal could be handed a boost ahead of the game against Fulham after the defender was spotted at Emirates Stadium last night.

Gabriel took to social media platform Instagram to share photos of himself with Jakub Kiwior and William Saliba, and he was visibly in high spirits after the deserved victory.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was not keen on risking him for the game, but it would be surprising if the Brazilian is not fit enough to start at Fulham.

His trouble started when he was withdrawn against Liverpool back in October. He returned for the trip to Newcastle United but could not play through the pain barrier for the entire West Ham match.

Missing the Man United match will provide him with much-needed rest ahead of the upcoming games, and Arsenal cannot afford to be without him for long.

They play six more games before the end of the year and will kick off 2025 with eight games in January.

Arteta has to find a way to wisely rotate his team and keep his key players fresh for the most important half of the season.

Talks between Arsenal and Gabriel over a contract extension are reportedly at an advanced stage, and he will be keen to end the campaign as a Premier League title winner.
