Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Casemiro have been criticised by Gary Neville in the aftermath of their respective trips to the United States.
Rashford and Casemiro were pictured in the US last week after missing out on international duty for England and Brazil, respectively.
The forward visited an NBA game at Madison Square Garden in New York, while the midfielder took his family on a vacation to Disney World.
Speaking on his Stick to Football podcast (h/t The Telegraph), Neville was critical of both players, questioning their professionalism given the current situation of play at Manchester United.
He said: “I’m not that wound up about Rashford and Casemiro going over to the United States, but what I’m asking is, if you’ve got a four-day break, Portland is a 12-hour flight and an eight-hour time difference, your jet lag is bad, and you feel a bit like…”
“I’m asking the question based on professionalism – you’re playing badly, the team are losing, you’re 13th in the league and there is a new manager coming in.
“Would you choose that trip as a break to recharge your batteries? That’s not a recharging trip. It’s not right, that.”
Rashford and Casemiro have come under heavy scrutiny for their performances this season, but the arrival of Ruben Amorim could spark an upturn in form for both players and across the squad overall as United look to put a slow start to the season behind them.
The Red Devils are currently 13th in the Premier League table heading into Sunday’s clash against newly promoted Ipswich Town but only four points behind third-placed Chelsea.
Having taken part in Amorim’s initial training sessions as United boss, there is a good chance that Rashford and Casemiro will be handed starting roles in this weekend’s trip to Portman Road.
