Livramento and Hall were impressive for the Three Lions, but Gordon was at his absolute best at Wembley Stadium.
The 23-year-old scored his first goal for England, pouncing at the far post after the visitors failed to clear Livramento’s cross.
The national press were effusive in their praise of Gordon. The Daily Mirror rated his performance 7/10, saying the forward’s crosses and pace can make him a regular starter for his country.
Gordon has developed well since joining Newcastle in 2023. The club made the right decision to hand him a new long-term contract last month.
He has bagged 15 goals and 12 assists for the Tyneside club in 77 matches across all competitions.
