Celtic are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller.
The Bhoys made some fantastic signings during the summer transfer window, and their business model is widely admired.
Celtic have made a great start to the season, establishing a nine-point lead over Rangers.
The Hoops have also made a strong start in the Champions League. Should they be looking to add a bit of extra quality to the side in January?
What Keith Jackson has said about Miller
With every game they play in Europe this season, their earnings increase, and therefore, many pundits believe they have a strong chance of signing Miller in the January window.
Rangers are also in the race for Miller, but journalist Keith Jackson suggests that Celtic should be working on a deal to bring the 18-year-old to Parkhead.
He wrote for the Daily Record: “If Celtic aren’t already trying to engineer a deal behind the scenes, then they should be. Rangers are unlikely to have the financial clout to compete.
“But if England’s top flight comes sniffing around, then both of them might be priced out of the bidding.”
Miller would be a terrific signing for Celtic
The exciting young midfielder has progressed leaps and bounds within such a short time, and the burgeoning growth has not gone unnoticed.
Since progressing through the academy ranks at the club, he has not only become an important player for the senior side but has recently worn the captain’s armband in the absence of injured Paul McGinn and Stephen O’Donnell.
Miller has a contract until 2026, and Motherwell have slapped a price tag of over £4 million on him.
Celtic splashed the cash on Adam Idah and Arne Engels during the summer window, but they should be able to meet Motherwell’s demands.
Miller would be a terrific signing for Celtic. However, if Liverpool or Southampton join the race for him, Celtic could struggle to win the bidding war.
