Liverpool handed boost as Madrid dealt huge blow ahead of Champions League clash

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Champions League table after winning all four of their opening games in the league phase.

The Reds have defeated AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, and manager Arne Slot will fancy their chances against a struggling Madrid side on November 27.

Liverpool have also received a massive boost ahead of the match after Eder Militao picked up a season-ending injury in their 4-0 win over Osasuna today.

The Brazilian has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and will not play again this term. His absence is a huge blow to Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Militao has played in all of their La Liga and Champions League games this season, but he will not be featuring against the Reds.

Madrid have two wins and two defeats in Europe this season, and they have also lost once in La Liga, but Liverpool have to be on top of their game when they meet.

A victory against Madrid will see Liverpool move closer to booking an automatic spot in the last-16 of the competition.

They would head into the remaining games of the league phase against Girona, Lille and PSV Eindhoven in a buoyant mood if they defeat Madrid.
