West Ham United have made a woeful start to the season.
The Hammers are already out of the Carabao Cup and are languishing in 14th in the Premier League after just three wins from 10 matches.
They defeated Manchester United at the end of October but were woeful at Nottingham Forest last weekend. The club are reportedly alarmed by recent results.
West Ham will reportedly review Lopetegui’s position if they lose at home to Everton on Saturday.
However, the Spaniard has asked for more time to turn the club’s form around.
He said (per the Standard): “All of us, we want time, but we want wins. We know we have to win matches. We have won matches, but it’s not enough.
“It is true we are trying to do one kind of project, one kind of idea, as one pack, and step by step I am sure we are going to achieve it. Winning allows you to work better, to be more calm.
“For the players, too – that’s why the focus is always to win. But we are trying to do our way, our idea and to translate it to the players.
“Step by step we are doing things that in a short time we are going to be able to see. Any moment is an opportunity to turn these moments into a good moment.”
Lopetegui was expected to introduce an exciting brand of football after succeeding David Moyes last summer.
However, despite bringing in nine players by spending over £100 million in the previous transfer window, he has failed to implement his style of play.
The former Real Madrid boss has been making constant changes in formation and personnel, but he is failing to deliver results.
