Arsenal have been rocked by injuries suffered in training sessions away from the club

Arsenal are one of the Premier League clubs that have been rocked by players suffering injuries with specialist personal trainers, according to the Daily Mail.

Footballers in England and Europe have been recruiting the services of their own teams of personal trainers, chefs, physiotherapists, psychologists and nutritionists as they look to reach optimal conditions.

However, it often comes at a cost, as some of them pick up injuries when having their own personal training sessions away from the club.

Arsenal have suffered plenty of injuries this season, and the extra training could be a factor.

With training and diet plans for each player tailored by the club, doing more work outside could cause more harm than good.

Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also had similar issues with their players, with the Eagles verifying the origins of a hamstring injury suffered by former Gunners striker Eddie Nketiah.

They suspect the problem was picked up during a session away from Palace’s training schedule.

Premier League footballers appointing performance specialists separate from their clubs could be detrimental to their fitness.

Nketiah could have had his personal trainer from his Arsenal days, and some of his old teammates are likely to have followed suit.

The extra training on days off appears to be telling on some of them during matches and in training sessions, and the Gunners must find a way to ensure their players do not fall victim to this trend.
