Arsenal star returns to training, but midfielder misses the session

Arsenal have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their games against Inter Milan and Chelsea as captain Martin Odegaard has returned to training after a two-month layoff.

However, England international midfielder Declan Rice was not spotted in training this morning, with Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth claiming he may be training on his own.

Having Odegaard back is a much-needed boost for the Gunners ahead of the international break next weekend, and manager Mikel Arteta will be desperate to have him on the pitch against Inter and Chelsea.

Arsenal have done well in the Champions League, recording two wins and a draw in their opening three games of the opening phase.

However, they are winless in their last three Premier League games and cannot afford to drop further points when they take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Being without Rice for such a huge game is the last thing Arsenal want right now, and the fans will be hoping his absence from training is precautionary.

They were dealt a massive blow yesterday when it emerged that sporting director Edu is leaving the club and suffering another major injury will be too much to handle amid their shaky run in the Premier League.

Frequent injuries have hampered the Gunners this season, and they will be praying their top players return to action unscathed after the international break.
