Manchester United have confirmed a 20-man squad for the Europa League clash against Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday. They came from behind to beat Brentford by a 2-1 scoreline.
Jonny Evans has been ruled out with a knock, but there are no other fresh concerns with Matthijs de Ligt and Casemiro deemed fit.
Here is the squad as revealed by United’s official website:
- Goalkeepers: Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Andre Onana.
- Defenders: Harry Amass, Diogo Dalot, Matthijs de Ligt, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui, Habeeb Ogunneye.
- Midfielders: Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Manuel Ugarte.
- Forwards: Amad, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Ethan Wheatley, Joshua Zirkzee.
United’s start to the Europa League league phase has been below par. They have drawn their opening two games against FC Twente and Porto.
The Red Devils had a resounding two-goal lead against the latter away from home, but the Primeira Liga giants made a stunning comeback against them.
Porto were on course for a 3-2 victory, but Harry Maguire scored a late stoppage-time equaliser.
Bruno Fernandes was sent off prior to Maguire’s goal and won’t be involved in Thursday’s encounter in Istanbul.
Maguire, Evans, Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw have also been ruled out as they recover from respective injury concerns.
Ten Hag has picked three wonderkids – Harry Amass, Ethan Wheatley and Habeeb Ogunneye – in the travelling squad to Turkey.
United face a testing challenge against Jose Mourinho’s side, but they need to pick up maximum points to boost their chances of directly qualifying for the last 16 with a top-eight finish.
