Thomas Tuchel agrees deal to become the next England manager

German tactician Thomas Tuchel is set to be the new manager of the England national team, according to The Times. He will sign an 18-month contract.

A deal with the Football Association (FA) has been finalised, and an official announcement is expected in the coming days. He will likely bring assistant coach Anthony Barry along. They worked together at Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Tuchel will become the first German-born manager to manage the Three Lions. His appointment marks the end of a period of uncertainty that followed Gareth Southgate’s resignation this summer.

The 51-year-old was approached by the FA last month. After a whirlwind of negotiations, both parties agreed that Tuchel would take charge of England.

The FA’s decision to appoint Tuchel has been met with widespread approval. The former Chelsea manager is widely regarded as one of the best in Europe and has a proven track record of success.

His appointment is seen as a major coup for the FA, who have secured the services of a manager who was being courted by several other top European clubs, including Manchester United and AC Milan.

Tuchel’s arrival is expected to inject a new energy into the England team. With a wealth of talent at his disposal, Tuchel believes England have the potential to be a major force at the 2026 World Cup.

His strong record in knockout competitions also makes him a promising candidate to lead England to their first major tournament victory since 1966.

He proved his mettle in England by leading an underwhelming Chelsea team to Champions League glory and the FA Cup final in his first season.

Current interim England boss Lee Carsley is expected to return to the under-21s despite leading the Three Lions to three wins in his four games in charge.
