Manchester United could be without five defenders for the Premier League clash against Brentford at Old Trafford next week.
The Red Devils have had a tough start to the top-flight campaign, picking up just eight points from the opening seven league games.
Injuries have hampered United in the early part of the season, and they could be without five defenders for the upcoming home game against the Bees.
Luke Shaw has yet to return to training after a calf issue, and manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he may not be ready for the first game after the international break.
Leny Yoro has been sidelined since pre-season with a foot injury, and he is not expected to make his debut until November at the earliest.
Tyrell Malacia has been training with the team after a long-term knee issue, but he may not be rushed back until he is fully fit in the coming weeks.
United are also set to be without Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui.
Maguire has been ruled out for a few weeks after sustaining a calf injury against Aston Villa.
Mazraoui has joined him on the sidelines after undergoing a heart procedure due to experiencing palpitations.
The issue is only minor and he should return to action within the next few weeks, according to BBC Sport.
United manager Erik ten Hag has a selection headache, particularly with Mazraoui’s absence next week.
Victor Lindelof played at right-back to compensate for Mazraoui’s half-time substitution in the goalless draw at Aston Villa.
The Dutch tactician could continue with the 30-year-old in the role with Diogo Dalot on the left side of United’s defence.
The other option is to play Dalot in his regular right-back position, with Lisandro Martinez operating on the opposite flank.
This would mean Matthijs de Ligt partnering Jonny Evans or Lindelof in the heart of the defence.
United also have concerns further forward. Mason Mount is doubtful to face the Bees after a knock sustained against Tottenham Hotspur.
Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo recently withdrew from international duty and may need to be assessed before the game.
