‘Tense situation’: Romano drops big update on Ten Hag’s future ahead of Brentford game

The Red Devils have been equally poor in the Europa League, with two points from as many games, which has led to questions about Erik ten Hag’s future as manager.

The club had an executive meeting on Tuesday, which was reportedly long-planned, but the Dutchman’s position could have been a topic of discussion at the summit.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 54-year-old is continuing to work as normal.

He said: “Erik ten Hag has not received any communication on his future from INEOS

United are bound to consider their options after a lacklustre start to the season. The club spent around £180 million on new signings, but there has been no improvement.

Eight points from seven games is United’s worst start to a league season in 35 years.

Ten Hag does not appear close to being sacked at the moment. The goalless draw at Aston Villa has probably kept him in the job beyond the international break.
