Teenager could make shock Arsenal debut against Bolton Wanderers as fresh injury emerges

Arsenal youngster Jack Porter could make a surprise debut against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night.

The Gunners played out a 2-2 draw against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday. David Raya was once again spectacular in goal.

The Spanish star made nine saves but was spotted limping and had a bandage on his right leg after the game.

If he is unavailable for selection, manager Mikel Arteta could be forced to hand a surprise debut to 16-year-old Porter on Wednesday.

Porter was recently in the matchday squad for Arsenal’s goalless Champions League draw against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.

Back-up goalkeeper Neto is cup-tied, having played for Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup this season.

Tommy Setford is the third-choice keeper in the squad after his arrival from Ajax, but he has been absent lately with an apparent injury.

Lucas Nygaard was a summer addition to the academy, but he has just returned to training after a broken thumb.

The 18-year-old has yet to feature for the development squads this season.

Arsenal will be hoping that Raya can recover in time for the midweek game at the Emirates Stadium.
