Arsenal handed a major boost as Odegaard returns to action ahead of Spurs game

Arsenal have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the derby game against Tottenham Hotspur on September 15.

Martin Odegaard featured for Norway against Kazakhstan in their UEFA Nations League game on Friday.

The Gunners captain was taken off in the 74th minute against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, as he was unable to shake off a blow to his ankle.

While Odegaard was called up by his country for the games against Kazakhstan and Austria, Norway manager Stale Solbakken initially offered a worrying update.

Solbakken told Eurosport that Odegaard had picked up another knock apart from the one he suffered against the Seagulls, but he has managed to shake it off.

He completed the game against Kazakhstan as Norway were held to a goalless draw and is expected to feature when they face Austria on Monday.

Odegaard is yet to score or assist this term and the derby will be a good game for him to open his account and help Arsenal leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with all three points.

The Gunners skipper will be available to face Spurs after the international break in a much-needed boost, with Declan Rice and Mikel Merino unavailable for selection.
