Gordon joined the Magpies from Everton in January last year. He scored just one goal in 16 appearances during the second half of the 2022/23 season.
However, he was a revelation last term with 12 goals and 11 assists from 48 appearances.
Gordon has established himself as the first-choice winger on the left flank for Newcastle, but he has shown in the past that he can also operate on the right wing.
His versatility could be a reason behind the Gunners’ late interest, but the Magpies are unlikely to let him go with barely time left to pursue a quality replacement.
Arsenal are unlikely to secure a deal for Gordon, who is valued at £51 million by Transfermarkt. He could be a forward target in future.
