Juventus are waiting for Manchester United to make a decision on the future of out-of-favour star Jadon Sancho.
According to Sky Sports, the Serie A giants have reiterated their interest in Sancho, but they also made it clear they only want to take him on a season-long loan.
They’d be willing to include an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season, but United are reluctant to sanction a temporary switch.
The Red Devils prefer to offload Sancho on a permanent deal. They’re also open to a loan proposal, but only if Juventus are obligated to sign him permanently next summer.
United are running out of options to offload Sancho before the transfer window closes, with the Englishman unwilling to explore a move to the Middle East.
While United are keen to sell Sancho permanently and get his huge wages off their books, they could be amenable to Juventus’ loan proposal.
Sancho still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford, and there’s also an option for an additional 12 months’ extension, so the possibility of a straight loan cannot be ruled out.
Juventus are also aware of Chelsea’s interest in Sancho. The Blues have been on a spending spree this summer and are far from done with their transfer business.
They’re looking to reinforce Enzo Maresca’s squad with at least one more forward before the transfer window closes, and Sancho has emerged as a potential target.
Talks have circulated about a potential swap deal that could see Sancho and Raheem Sterling switch clubs, with the former Manchester City ace falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
There hasn’t been any concrete development on that front, but it’s one to watch as we approach the final stages of the transfer window.
Juventus have also contacted Chelsea to inquire about the possibility of signing Sterling, but his huge wages would be a significant stumbling block.
