Man Utd star could’ve played last game for Red Devils today amid fresh development

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay came off the bench for his second Premier League appearance of 2024-25 in the 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion today.

However, he could have played his last game for the Red Devils, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Napoli have tabled a €25 million bid for the Scotland international, but Man United rejected it yesterday.

Man United want to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte but may need to sell before landing him in a permanent deal.

Getting €30m for McTominay could be too much for them to turn down.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte wants him, and he could be open to the switch if he is guaranteed a regular place in the starting XI.

The former Chelsea manager is aiming to win Serie A with his new club, and becoming a title winner would appeal to the Red Devils midfielder.

The 27-year-old has never come close to winning the Premier League since becoming a first-team player in 2017, and Man United are not looking like title challengers.

McTominay has played 17 minutes this season and has never really established himself as a member of the starting line-up since breaking into the first team.

Manager Erik ten Hag would love to hold on to the Scot, but the need to balance the books could force his hands in the coming days.
