Former Liverpool defender predicts where Man Utd will finish in the Premier League

Jamie Carragher has revealed where he thinks Manchester United will finish in the Premier League next season.

The Red Devils were eighth last season, their worst finish in the Premier League era.

However, Erik ten Hag kept his job by leading his team to FA Cup success, beating Manchester City in the final at Wembley Stadium in May.

The Red Devils have signed Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee this summer. They are also close to completing moves for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui

Despite this, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher doesn’t think United are good enough to secure Champions League football.

He has backed Tottenham Hotspur to finish fourth ahead of them (h/t Daily Mail).

Carragher has tipped Manchester City to be crowned champions again, with Arsenal and Liverpool finishing second and third respectively.

Manchester United recently suffered a penalty shootout defeat to City in the Community Shield, but they competed on an equal footing with Pep Guardiola’s side.

It was a close match and the result could have gone either way. Unfortunately, Jonny Evans missed his spot-kick and the Citizens emerged victorious.

Based on that performance, United could easily break back into the Champions League places this season.
