Chelsea turn to £113m forward after Omorodion deal collapses

Chelsea were on the verge of signing Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion after agreeing a £34.5 million fee.

However, the move has now collapsed due to a major issue in finalising the Spaniard’s contract (per The Athletic).

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have now turned their attention to Joao Felix.

With Omorodion’s transfer off, the two European clubs don’t want deals for Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez to collapse.

Chelsea are currently locked in discussions for Felix as part of the Gallagher deal.

Atletico paid £113m to sign the 24-year-old in 2019 after being impressed with his rapid development at Benfica

The Portuguese failed to justify his enormous price tag and was loaned to Chelsea in January 2023.

He scored four goals in 16 Premier League games and the club opted against making his move permanent,

Felix showed glimpses of his quality during his loan stint at Barcelona in 2023-24, bagging seven goals and three assists in 30 La Liga appearances.
