Tottenham Hotspur’s summer plans have taken a noteworthy turn as Richarlison has ruled out a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Brazilian has been linked with an exit this summer, with Tottenham reportedly winning listen to offers of around £60 million for him.
With Tottenham unlikely to generate such a figure from European clubs, the Saudi Pro League was identified as Richarlison’s most likely destination.
Saudi clubs are aware of Spurs’ valuation, and the striker confirmed that he received a mouth-watering contract offer but has decided to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
Richarlison wants to be in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup and figures his chances are significantly increased if he remains in the Premier League.
“The money is high, but my dream is bigger,” Richarlison told ESPN Brazil. “An offer has arrived, but my dream of playing for the Brazilian national team and the Premier League is louder. It’s decided.”
Tottenham’s move for Dominic Solanke doesn’t depend on Richarlison’s exit
Richarlison has three years left on his contract with Tottenham and will be hoping to improve on his 12-goal tally from last season.
The 27-year-old has failed to establish himself as a reliable goalscorer since his big-money move from Everton two years ago.
Richarlison has netted just 15 goals and provided eight assists in 66 appearances for Tottenham, forcing the club to enter the market for a prolific striker.
Tottenham have set their sights on Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
The former Chelsea and Liverpool man reportedly has a £65m release clause in his contract with three years remaining, so Bournemouth are unlikely to negotiate a lower fee with any potential suitors.
Tottenham’s move for Solanke doesn’t depend on Richarlison leaving, with the club keen to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s striking options.
Solanke bagged 19 Premier League goals last season. He spurred Bournemouth to a 12th-placed finish and could be a decent acquisition for Spurs.
