Tottenham weighing up move for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke

Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up their efforts to sign a new striker this summer and have added Dominic Solanke to their extensive shortlist.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are exploring a move for the Bournemouth striker, although they’re yet to formalise their interest with a bid.

Spurs have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window.

They re-signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig after a fairly impressive loan spell where he notched two goals and three assists in 13 Premier League appearances.

The 28-year-old joined Spurs at a time when Ange Postecoglou’s side were dealing with a concerning injury crisis in attack.

He was initially only viewed as a stop-gap solution to their shortage of attackers, but Postecoglou approved his return to the club for a second loan spell.

Tottenham also signed Archie Gray from Leeds United, while Swedish sensation Lucas Bergvall joined the squad after signing for the club in February.

Spurs are still looking to reinforce key areas of the squad, including a striker, given that Richarlison has been inconsistent since his big-money move from Everton two years ago.

The Brazilian scored 11 league goals in 24 Premier League games last season, most of which came during a rampant goalscoring frenzy that lasted between December and February.

However, his inconsistency is enough indication that Spurs need to invest in a prolific striker who can complement Heung-min Son and add venom to the attack.
