Tottenham Hotspur are among several clubs interested in signing Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to Turkish news outlet Haber3.
They are in the market for forwards to strengthen their attacking ranks, and Yilmaz is a concrete target.
However, they’re not alone in the race for the 24-year-old. Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been credited with an interest in the winger.
Yilmaz has three years left on his contract, but he could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, with the aforementioned trio closely keeping an eye on the winger.
Tottenham should ramp up their interest in the winger
Yilmaz has become a highly sought-after target after an impressive season with Gala. The Turkey international bagged seven goals and 12 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
He notched six goals and six assists in the league, creating ten big chances while averaging 1.2 key passes per 90 minutes.
His goal contributions were key to Gala’s title triumph last term, and he has been crucial for the Turkish national team at the ongoing European Championship in Germany.
Gala have set a €30 million (£25.5m) asking price for the winger, who was described as a ‘very special‘ player by Gaziantep manager Selcuk Inan.
Yilmaz is valued at £14.5m on Transfermarkt, but Gala could demand double that price if he continues to impress at the Euros.
He is solely focused on the Euros and is set to be named in the starting line-up when Turkey take on Austria in the last-16 on Monday.
His future will be decided after the tournament, although Tottenham must move fast to sign him, with other Premier League clubs circling with serious interest.
