Ipswich Town open talks to sign Chelsea’s Omari Hutchinson

Ipswich Town have opened negotiations with Chelsea to sign talented youngster Omari Hutchinson on a permanent transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 20-year-old impressed during a loan spell with the Championship outfit last season, helping them climb into the top flight with ten goals and five assists in 44 appearances.

Hutchinson won the club’s Young Player of the Season award, leaving manager Kieran McKenna to plead with the hierarchy to secure his services permanently.

The youngster is a fantastic offensive option with massive potential for improvement. He also works hard defensively, making him an exciting option.

The news is a welcome boost for Ipswich fans, who were left uncertain about the club’s direction following McKenna’s links with other clubs.

However, McKenna’s recent decision to remain at Portman Road seems to have activated the club’s transfer plans.

Ipswich are the front-runners for his signature, but they are not without competition. Reports suggest German clubs were also interested in acquiring Hutchinson.

Stuttgart have been linked with a move for the former Arsenal youth product as they prepare for life in the Champions League.

However, Ipswich’s quick move and the lure of regular first-team football under McKenna could prove decisive.

Negotiations are ongoing, and Ipswich are hopeful of securing a deal for the highly-rated youngster.

Hutchinson’s arrival would be a significant coup for Ipswich, adding a potent attacking threat to their squad as they aim to keep themselves in the Premier League.

The transfer would help Chelsea balance their books amid worries they could breach the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Chelsea are covered on the right flank with Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian on the club’s books.
