Tottenham should consider keeping Richarlison amid exit rumours

Tottenham Hotspur should consider retaining Richarlison this summer amid speculation surrounding his long-term future.

The Evening Standard reports that the Lilywhites will listen to offers for Richarlison this summer, although the Brazilian forward is reportedly happy at the club.

Spurs are not expected to force him out but will consider sizeable proposals for the striker, who is on the radar of Saudi Pro League (SPL) clubs.

A couple of SPL clubs are considering a move, and Spurs will be compelled to sell if they receive a fee north of the £60 million they paid for him in 2022.

Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso are also on Tottenham’s chopping block this summer.

Saudi clubs are interested in Emerson, but Serie A giants AC Milan could offer him a route out of England without moving to the Middle East.

Hojbjerg is attracting interest from European clubs and is poised to leave Spurs this summer as he approaches the final year of his contract.

Richarlison would be a decent back-up option

Richarlison has barely justified his £60m fee since joining Tottenham from Everton in 2022.

However, he could be a decent squad player for Ange Postecoglou as he strives to guide the club into the top four next season.

The 27-year-old has netted just 15 goals in 66 games for Spurs. Eleven of those came this season, which suggests he’s finally finding his feet in London.

His haul was also the first time he exceeded the ten-goal mark since 13 Premier League goals in back-to-back seasons for Everton (2017/18 & 2018/19).

He’s certainly not the prolific marksman Spurs need to close the gap on the top four, but he could be a decent off-the-bench option for Postecoglou next term, as he can feature anywhere across the frontline.
