Manchester United are ‘confident’ of signing Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise when the transfer window reopens next month, according to talkSPORT.
The Red Devils are searching for a new right winger and Olise has been earmarked as the top target after an impressive 2023/24 season with the Eagles.
United are reportedly confident of striking a deal for the Frenchman, who weighed in with 16 goal contributions in 19 appearances last season.
Palace are prepared to sanction his sale for his £60 million release clause. United could sign the 22-year-old when the transfer window reopens on June 14.
Olise’s arrival could pave the way for Sancho and Antony exits
Olise had an injury-disrupted season with the Eagles. He suffered three separate hamstring injuries but still impressed with ten goals and six assists in 19 outings.
His consistency will have caught the eye of the Red Devils. The Reading graduate played only 938 minutes, but he created nine big chances for his teammates.
He won close to six duels per game while completing over two take-ons. Olise also impressed with his key passes and accurate crosses into the box from the right wing.
Olise would be a fantastic acquisition. The France youth international also has the ability to operate from the number 10 position which is a plus.
If United were to sign Olise, it could spell the end for Jadon Sancho. The Englishman could be permanently offloaded after his loan stint with Borussia Dortmund.
The club could also cut their losses on Antony. Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo were preferred over him on the right wing during the final weeks of the season.
Antony managed just two goal involvements this term, and the hierarchy could decide to cash on him.
