Chelsea eye Crysencio Summerville as Leeds United prepare for exodus

Chelsea have joined the race for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville after his impressive Championship campaign, according to The Telegraph.

Summerville was Leeds’ top scorer this season with 19 goals. He also provided nine assists in his 43 appearances.

The 22-year-old is a hot prospect after Leeds failed to secure Premier League promotion by losing the play-off final to Southampton.

They are preparing to sell some of their star players to balance their books, and Summerville is one of their most prized assets.

The Dutch winger’s price tag is expected to be around £30 million, and Chelsea are reportedly willing to match it.

Summerville’s arrival would bolster Chelsea’s frontline, which desperately needs a refresh.

Chelsea struggled to find consistency on the left side of their attack, with Raheem Sterling disappointing for a second successive season.

The England international has failed to live up to expectations, and the Blues could be considering a sale this summer.

Mykahailo Mudryk has also struggled and Chelsea need to find a left winger to complement Cole Palmer on the opposite side.

Palmer and Summerville are young, English league-proven, and have the potential to become stars for Chelsea.

Competition for Summerville’s signature will likely be fierce, with Liverpool also reported to be interested. The Reds are in the market for a left winger due to the profligacy of their forwards.

Luis Diaz scored only eight league goals this term and missed 12 big chances. His poor return in front of goal cost Liverpool on the title run-in.

However, Chelsea have financially outmuscled Liverpool in past transfer windows, pipping them to Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Chelsea’s clear vision for integrating young talent makes them a strong contender to land the coveted Dutch forward.
