Manchester United star now open to playing in Saudi Arabia

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is open to the idea of playing in Saudi Arabia amid interest from Al-Nassr, according to journalist Jonathan Ramos.

The Brazil international had a difficult second season with the Red Devils and he made only 32 appearances on the back of multiple injury issues.

Casemiro was initially on the bench for the FA Cup final on Saturday but was removed from the matchday squad after suffering a muscle issue.

The 32-year-old is reportedly open to the prospect of moving to Saudi if he is not considered a key part of the club’s plans.

Saudi’s Public Investment Fund won’t hesitate to offer a considerable salary. Al-Nassr could seek to reunite him with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Casemiro looks likely to leave United this summer

The former Real Madrid man had a brilliant debut campaign, but he could not replicate the feat this season.

Casemiro lacked consistency with his overall defending. He was caught out of position numerous times and was guilty of losing possession on an average of 12 occasions per league appearance.

Manager Erik ten Hag described him as a ‘massive’ player’ in 2023, but it could be the right time to part ways amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

United made a huge outlay of €70 million to sign him and could recoup part of it if Casemiro joins Al-Nassr.

Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana would be a quality replacement for €30m this summer.
