Three Man Utd stars make England’s pre-Euro 2024 squad, Rashford & Sancho missing

England manager Gareth Southgate has picked Manchester United trio Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire in his training squad for the 2024 European Championship.

The Three Lions, who will start as one of the favourites for the tournament in Germany, have two warm-up friendlies against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland.

Ahead of those games, Southgate has picked a 33-man squad which will be reduced to 26 for Euro 2024.

Maguire has unsurprisingly made the cut after establishing himself as a mainstay in the heart of the defence despite his mixed form at club level.

Mainoo has retained his position on the back of a promising international breakthrough in March.

Shaw has spent most of the season on the sidelines with hamstring injuries, but the left-back has still made the squad. He could be assessed in the coming weeks.

There is no place for Marcus Rashford amid his disappointing club campaign. The United graduate bagged 30 goals last season, but he has netted only eight this time around.

Jadon Sancho does not make the squad despite showing promise with Borussia Dortmund. He has made six goal contributions on loan but has failed to convince Southgate.

Sancho has not played for the Three Lions in recent times. His last appearance came in September 2021 and his exclusion from the provisional squad is no shock.
