Man Utd player ratings vs Brighton: Casemiro, Dalot and Hojlund shine

Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion courtesy of goals from Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund in their final Premier League game today.

Erik ten Hag made only one change to his side that defeated Newcastle United 3-2 last weekend.

Lisandro Martinez made his first start since February after recovering from injury.

Dalot broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute before Hojlund came off the bench to double the lead with a couple of minutes to play.

The Red Devils finish the season in eighth place, which means they must beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final to qualify for Europe.

Let’s get into the player ratings.

Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 6/10

The Cameroon international made a couple of decent and expected saves. He ended his first English top-flight campaign with a clean sheet.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

The former Crystal Palace man defended his flank well but offered nothing going forward. This could be his final league appearance in a United shirt.

Casemiro – 7/10

The veteran displayed superb game awareness to make a goal-line clearance right after the break. He looked much more assured and composed this afternoon.

Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

He cleared a header off the line to keep the score 0-0. He looks set to start against Man City in the FA Cup final.

Diogo Dalot – 8/10

Dalot has been United’s standout player this season, and it was fitting that he was the man who put United ahead.

Sofyan Amrabat – 4/10

Amrabat earned a yellow card for a clumsy foul and was caught in possession several times.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10

It was a tough day for the youngster at the park, where he was dominated by Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.

Scott McTominay – 5/10

The midfielder blasted his shot off the target after Bruno Fernanded found him perfectly during a counter-attack midway through the first half.

Amad Diallo – 5/10

The 21-year-old had a great opportunity to make his case for a starting spot in the final but did nothing noteworthy.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10

Another night where Garnacho was United’s most threatening forward but did not have anything to show for on the scoresheet.

Bruno Fernandes – 5/10

Not at his creative best. He was taken off at the hour mark with the FA Cup final in mind.

Substitutes

Jonny Evans – 6/10

The centre-back made sure United kept a clean sheet.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8/10

His arrival brought much more intensity to United’s pressing, leading to a couple of swift half chances. The striker showed his directness and quick feet to double United’s lead.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

The former Real Madrid man played for over 20 minutes and did well.

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

The England international was disappointing again.

Christian Eriksen – 6/10

The midfielder provided the assist to Hojlund.
