Declan Rice & Ian Wright react after update from Arsenal star

Declan Rice and Ian Wright have responded on Instagram after Mohamed Elneny announced his departure from Arsenal this summer.

The Egypt international has been with the Gunners since January 2016 and he is currently the longest-serving player at the north London club.

The midfielder was initially fancied to leave the club last season, but the hierarchy extended his contract for 12 months after a serious knee injury.

Elneny has now confirmed his exit through social media, sparking a reaction from Rice and Wright.

Rice described the long-serving midfielder as a ‘legend’ while Wright thanked Elneny for his contribution at Arsenal, he posted: ‘Thank you, Moh’.

Elneny has made 161 appearances during his Arsenal career. He has been a fringe player for the past few seasons under manager Mikel Arteta.

The midfielder was content to stay despite the lack of playing time, but he has now decided to pursue a new challenge.
