Man Utd boost as Man City dealt huge injury blow ahead of FA Cup final, big star now ruled out

Manchester United have been handed a potential boost ahead of the FA Cup final as Manchester City have been dealt a huge injury blow.

Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson is unavailable for the game, according to ManchesterWorld journalist Michael Plant.

He was withdrawn during their 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night and will now miss the final two games of the season due to an eye socket fracture.

Pep Guardiola could also be without Kevin De Bruyne, who was withdrawn against Spurs due to an ankle issue.

Stefan Ortega has featured for Man City in the FA Cup this term and was expected to start against the Red Devils, but having Ederson available could have given Guardiola other ideas.

The German goalkeeper might sustain an injury during the Manchester derby at Wembley, and being unable to call upon his Brazilian counterpart means his injury is a huge blow.

Man United secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Newcastle United last night and need to win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday to have any chance of qualifying for Europe next season via their league position.

Winning the FA Cup will secure a spot in the Europa League group stage, and manager Erik ten Hag will hope his team can get the job done.

Man United lost 3-0 at home and 3-1 away against Man City during the league season and will be desperate to avoid another defeat.

City denied Man United a chance to land a domestic double last term after they defeated them in the FA final. The Red Devils must ensure this does not happen again as Ten Hag cannot afford to go trophyless.

Man City being without Ederson and De Bruyne would be good news for Man United, and all eyes will be on them over the coming days.
