Arsenal star makes claim about Spurs supporters ahead of Tottenham v Man City clash

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba believes that his teammates will all be supporting Tottenham Hotspur when they take on Manchester City on Tuesday.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League table ahead of the final day of the season, but the reigning champions have a game in hand.

Arsenal need them to drop points against Spurs to boost their chances of winning the title for the first time since 2004.

Saliba and his teammates will be rooting for Spurs despite their bitter rivalry, but the Frenchman believes Tottenham fans want their team to lose against Man City.

“I think all the [Arsenal] team will be Tottenham fans,” he said.

“Let’s pray for Tuesday. I hope it will be a good week for us. We did our job against (Manchester) United and we have another job at the weekend.

“They [Spurs] want to play in the Champions League next season. I know their fans don’t want them to win against City. But they are good competitors so I think they will try their best to win against City.

“We know Tottenham is a very good team. Our first game and second game this season with them was not easy. I hope they will be at their best on Tuesday.”

Man City are yet to win a league game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and manager Ange Postecoglou will want to ensure it stays that way.

However, they have suffered a double injury blow ahead of the game. Richarlison is set to miss the rest of the season due to a calf injury while Yves Bissouma has also been ruled out of the remainder of the campaign with a knee problem.

Being without two of their key players has not done their chances against Man City any good, but they will be ready to give their all with Champions League qualification still in reach.

Arsenal need help from their neighbours and they will be grateful if Man City leave London without all three points tomorrow.
