Cole Palmer has won the Premier League Player of the Month award for April, becoming the first Chelsea player to win the award since Eden Hazard in September 2018.
The England international beat off competition from Bruno Fernandes, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Kai Havertz, Jordan Pickford and Josko Gvardiol.
Palmer clinched the award after a spectacular month in which he bagged seven goals and an assist.
The 22-year-old started the month by netting a hat-trick in the memorable 4-3 win over Manchester United. He also provided an assist in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.
He proved the treble against United was no fluke the following week, scoring four times as the Blues thrashed Everton 6-0.
Palmer continues to be one of the Blues’ brightest sparks in a poor season, and they should spend this summer building around him.
The Wythenshawe-born star has been a revelation this term, bagging 21 goals and nine assists in 31 league appearances.
Palmer sits second in the Premier League top scorer list and will likely finish with the most assists for the club this term.
His performances have won him Chelsea’s Player of the Season and Player’s Player of the Season awards.
His performances have been recognised beyond Chelsea, with Palmer earning nominations for the Premier League Young Player of the Season and Player of the Season awards.
Palmer has proven an excellent pickup for the Blues following his £42.5 million move from City and is hoping to play at the 2024 European Championship.
England have an assortment of attackers that can be on the plane to Germany this summer, and the Chelsea star will want to make that trip.
Manager Gareth Southgate has several exciting options at his disposal, but Palmer has staked a strong claim to be included.
