Man Utd handed huge boost ahead of Arsenal clash as injured duo return to first-team training

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford.

They will be desperate to return to winning ways following the demoralising 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday.

Manager Erik ten Hag knows his job is on the line and has been handed a huge double injury boost ahead of the clash with the Gunners.

The Red Devils confirmed on their official website this afternoon that Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford have returned to first-team training.

Injuries forced Ten Hag to pair Jonny Evans with Casemiro at the back against the Eagles, and the Dutchman knows the duo cannot be trusted against the Gunners following their pitiable performance on Monday.

Martinez has not featured for the Red Devils since he was taken off in the 1-1 draw at Brentford in March.

He has had an injury-hit campaign, making just 11 appearances this season due to a calf strain.

Having him back will come in handy and Man United fans will hope he is fit enough to start against Arsenal this weekend.

Whether Ten Hag wants to risk him for the game remains to be seen as winning the FA Cup final is now the top priority if he wants to keep his job beyond this summer.

Rashford should be ready to face Arsenal despite getting hurt in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley Stadium.

The England international forward has not had the best of seasons and will be desperate to show what he is capable of in the remaining games.
