Liverpool could listen to offers for Darwin Nunez this summer

Liverpool could reportedly listen to offers for Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window

According to the Sun, Barcelona are preparing a shock move for the 24-year-old to replace superstar Robert Lewandowski.

The Catalans will look to offload their highest wage earners amidst their ongoing financial troubles.

Lewandowski, who arrived at Camp Nou in 2022, will likely be moved on to ensure the club complies with a £175 million salary cap imposed by La Liga

The Spanish giants are planning to sign Nunez as he is on about a quarter of the Polish star’s salary.

With several players set to depart this summer, Barca will likely be able to meet Liverpool’s asking price for Nunez.

However, the Reds are reluctant to let the Uruguayan leave who has a contract until 2028.

But they are also aware of handing incoming manager Arne Slot a decent transfer budget.

If Mohamed Salah moves to the Saudi Pro League at the end of the season, they may not have to sell.

But if there is no offer for Salah, the Merseyside giants could listen to an offer for Nunez.

The former Benfica star has registered 11 goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season.

He has also missed several big chances and is on a seven-game goalless run.
