Kai Havertz blown away by ‘hungry’ Arsenal star, 91% pass accuracy vs Bournemouth

Arsenal playmaker Kai Havertz praised Bukayo Saka following the 3-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners picked up a fourth straight league win by beating the Cherries at the Emirates Stadium.

Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 45th minute. Havertz won the spot-kick after a frustrating first half.

Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice scored after the break to secure a convincing 3-0 win, but the result could have been different on another day.

The Cherries were denied a goal at 2-0 after a soft foul on goalkeeper David Raya by Dominic Solanke. Despite the fortuitous nature of the result, Havertz was pleased with Saka’s display.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s unbelievable and shows it every week. I think he’s 21 or 22 and I’ve never seen a player like this.

England are very lucky. He’s hungry every day and if you see him in training he’s special.”

Saka scored only one goal from the penalty spot against the Cherries but should have had more.

He had seven attempts on goal, with four of those blocked by defenders. The 22-year-old also missed a big scoring opportunity after a terrific pass from Havertz.

Saka rushed with his effort on target when he had time and space to find the back of the net.

It was still a solid performance by the winger. He had 58 touches with a pass accuracy of 91 percent.

The Englishman created five chances in 86 minutes and looked fired up for the game.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that he can continue his current form over the next two fixtures.

The Gunners are top of the table with a one-point lead over Manchester City. However, they have played a game more than their title rivals.

The London giants can’t control their own destiny, but need to win their final two games of the top-flight campaign and hope that City slip-up somewhere.
