Despite this, he is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, and his injury record further underscores why Spurs must loosen their purse strings to get a deal over the line.
The Mexico international has only missed one game due to injury. Considering Spurs have been ravaged by injuries this season, Gimenez’s record offers a much-needed reprieve.
The Feyenoord striker is valued at £39m by Transfermarkt, but the Dutch giants are expected to demand significantly more, given he still has two and a half years remaining on his contract.
He boasts all the necessary tools to not only slot seamlessly into Postecoglou’s system but could also prove to be the point of difference for Spurs in the long term.
