Arsenal favourites ahead of Man Utd & Chelsea to sign Michael Olise

Arsenal have been handed a boost over Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to sign Michael Olise this summer.

The Gunners are searching for a new winger and Olise has recently emerged as one of the top names on their summer shortlist.

The Crystal Palace winger has also been linked with United and Chelsea, but Arsenal could have an edge after David Ornstein’s update.

In a Q&A session on The Athletic, Ornstein revealed that Olise would only leave Palace for ‘one of the small number of most prominent Champions League clubs’.

Arsenal favourites for Olise with Champions League

The Gunners are in the driving seat for Champions League qualification and another seven points could be enough to finish in the top four due to their superior goal difference.

By contrast, United and Chelsea are 13 and 16 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa respectively. They have games in hand, but Villa need just six more points to cement their spot.

With that in mind, Arsenal should be favourites to sign Olise, who has registered six goals and three assists from just 839 minutes of Premier League action this season.

Why should Arsenal sign Olise?

The Gunners lack a quality competitor to Bukayo Saka on the right wing and Olise would be an ideal signing given his strong attacking attributes.

The Frenchman has won a stunning 68 percent of his take-ons this term. He has also won 6.2 duels on average while creating six big chances. He averages 1.9 key passes.

His injury record has been a big concern over the past year. He has missed most of this season with hamstring injuries, but he was largely injury-free before that.

He has a £60 million release clause in his Palace contract signed last year. Arsenal could realistically swoop if he can stay unscathed for the rest of the season.
